These varieties of Pears have been available in Australia for many years - PlantNet® now makes them available as DWARF Pear varieties.

DWARF COCKTAIL PEARS

  • Dwarf Red Face Pear harvests late December, and is pollinated by Corella Pear.
  • Dwarf Seckel Pear harvests in mid February and is pollinated by Buerre Bosch Pear.
  • Dwarf Pretty Face Pear harvests in mid February and is pollinated by Corella Pear.

All of the above varieties are sweet and juicy with a light Red over Green skin colour.

  • Dwarf Christmas Pear harvests in mid December and is pollinated by Red Face and Corella Pears and is a sweet and juicy, green skinned fruit.

These smaller fruiting Cocktail Pear varieties have been selected for their size, only 25mm -30mm in diameter. Selected with fantastic uses in mind such as an addition to salads, cheese platters and can be added to cocktail drinks. They are also an ideal sized fruit for kids lunch boxes.

 

DWARF SUBTROPICAL PEARS.

  • Dwarf Sunshine Pear
  • Dwarf Bonza Pear.

These varieties have been selected to grow in coastal areas that only receive low chilling during the winter time. They are extremely sweet Pears and are crisp to eat. Harvest with a Green skin which changes to Yellow skin after harvest. These varieties are self fruitful.

 

DWARF PEARS(RED VARIETIES).

  •  Dwarf Sensation Pear is a medium to large size Pear with  beautiful Red skin over Yellow which harvests in early March. Pollinators( Buerre Bosch and Kosui Nashi)
  • Dwarf Corella Pear is a small to medium size Pear with Crimson/Red over Green skin colour which harvests in early April. Pollinators (Yali and Red face)
  • Dwarf Mirandino Rosso Pear is a small to medium sized Pear with light Red over Yellow/Green skin which harvests in late January. Pollinators(may be partially self fruitful, but will benefit from pollination from Packams Triumph). 

 

DWARF PEARS (YELLOW/GREEN VARIETIES).

  • Dwarf Packams Triumph Pear is a medium to large Pear with sweet, crisp, light green skin, yellowing when mature in late February. Pollinator (Josephine).
  • Dwarf Josephine Pear is a medium sized Pear with medium sized, sweet, rich flavour, crisp fruit with light Green to Yellow skin when ripe and harvests in mid March. Pollinator (Packam Triumph)
  • Dwarf Bartlett Pear is a medium to large Pear with sweet, crisp light green skin turning yellow when ripe and harvests in early March. Pollinator(Buerre Bosch)
  • Dwarf Buerre Bosch Pear is a sweet, strong flavoured, juicy Pear with Russeted Brown skin colour which harvests at the end of February. Pollinators (Bartlett and Williams).

All the varieties listed above are highly productive, low maintenance trees for confined spaces,  because of their Dwarfing tree size. Great for teaching kids how to look after  their own fruit tree. These varieties can be eaten fresh, in desserts, juiced, and are suitable for preserving.

 

 All varieties grow to a height of 2.0m - 2.5m and a width of 1.5m-2.0m.
